Currently: January 2015

Goodbye 2014 and Hello 2015!
I can't believe we are here already.
I've neglected this here blog the past two years  but I have tried my best to post whenever I have a spare moment. I've always loved Farley's "Currently" Linky Party  and I can't think of a better way to end/begin the year.

Listening: I love all of Wes Anderson's movies. He has such a lovely style. I can only imagine that he loved Roald Dahl as a child.

Loving: Max is 14 months old, and he is jabbering away all day long. Sometimes it’s just baby talk and sometimes it’s real words. It is so exciting to hear a new word being used correctly. It’s magical, I tell ya!

Thinking: I dread going back to work because January is slammed. I’ve got report cards to test for and then complete, computerized benchmarks to administer (bleck), a door to decorate (double bleck), and few other time-consuming things…

Wanting: Of course, I’d want more time off.  I adore staying at home with my lil monkey.

Needing: My expensive printer claims it needs a new printhead and I just haven’t gotten around to get a new one because I’m too mad at it. Maybe when I cool off I’ll see how much this “printhead” costs and take care of the problem. But until then, I will continue to scowl at it and pretend to beat it with a golf club.

Yes: I will continue to keep Max and Scott as my number ones and school as my number two. (Not an easy thing for this oldster.)

Maybe: I might blog more... Now that Max isn't AS needy as he used to be I can spare a few minutes to blog or even peruse the inter webs.

I wish: I'd be in hog heaven if I was able to organize my closets, office, garage, and classroom better. But if it doesn't happen... Oh well. ;)

Happy New Year to all!!!
Good Luck in 2015!

Currently September 2014

Goodbye Summer and HELLO Fall!

I am now beginning my third full week of school and things are busier than ever! Thank heavens for Labor Day. We've already had walk-throughs and major meetings, so it doesn't feel like an easy transition into the new school year, it feels like I'm already really behind!

Other than that, I'm totally exhausted from my Kinders. If only to bottle all of that energy... Slowly but surely, they're getting the hang of this school thing - except for lunch. They stink at EVERYTHING to do with lunch time.

On to something way more exciting, Currently! I'm linking up with the fabulous Farley   Here's my addition to the Currently family.
Listening: The quiet noises of a sleeping house. Love :)

Loving: This one is kind of stupid, but I've recently discovered the joy of my huge IKEA bag. I don't know why I haven't thought to use it before! This thing is huge and I can shove my teacher bag, my breast pump bag, my lunch box, my beverages, and Max's diaper bag all inside of it. One trip from the car. Score!

Thinking: My thoughts are with Yolanda's family. I am so sad to hear about her passing. Her blog, Oceans of First Grade Fun, was one of the first blogs I followed and loved. I loved her spirit, and she always had me chuckling while reading her posts. She was an amazing teacher and person. She will be missed.

Wanting: Max's molar to come in already! He goes from being a happy camper to a weepy mess in a hot minute. Poor guy :(

Needing: I have so much to print, laminate, and cut. I need another week of preplanning to get it all done!

3 Trips:
1.  I can't wait to see the Grand Canyon. An American wonder that I want to visit and marvel at with my family.
2. Way before The Lord of the Rings movies came out, I've wanted to visit New Zealand. It's so beautiful. Something about New Zealand just speaks to me, and I've always wanted to visit or maybe live there one day.
3. I need to visit Japan one day. The culture, the architecture, the FOOD! Love it! (I wish I spoke Japenese, though. It makes me nervous to travel anywhere where I don't speak the language!)

That's all folks!
Go off and have a relaxing Labor Day!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

What's your favorite back to school "have-to" items?
Hello friends...it's time to be getting our classrooms ready!
Andi and I (Jill, the sister) have joined in the linky fun of sharing a few of our
B2S favorites.  Hope it sparks some good ideas for you too!  We are so glad that you stopped by to see what our must-have items are for back to school.  When you are done browsing through all of our blogs, we hope that you enter to win one of our Amazon gift vouchers so that you can buy some new back to school items too!  We have $370 to give away.  Don't forget that the more you enter, the higher your chances of winning are!

1 - Getting Organized
 Bins, bins, bins, people!  Why do I still need bins?!?!  Really? mmmm-yes! I love these clear rectangular ones.  I put a label on the front, but I can still see if it really has what I need.  I have all sizes.  The sweater size hold books nicely because the sides are not at an angle- no squishing the bottom book.  Let me also tell you my new favorite- TWIST top bowls.  Kindergarteners can open these and not bust the lid.  This makes me happy and now everyone has one for their daily math manips:)  Electrical tape also makes me happy.  Goes on and peels off clean.  It partitions areas so nicely - dry erase boards, cabinets and ~my favorite~ the darlings that need to learn "personal space" at the tables.  ahhhh

2- Pretty Paper
Pretty paper ~ I have a large collection of paper, yet I am still a MISER when it comes to using it.  I am also very particular- it must be for just the right occasion and, well, if the document just needs a little jazz, but doesn't merit color- I make one and then copy B/W so I still see cute stuff.  Now, I am newly addicted to cute clip art too, but pretty paper is a favorite. Dollar store even surprises me with some fun paper which I might feel I can share with the children :).  SortKwik goes along with the paper theme and calms my germ issues while sorting and collating stacks of paper.

3 - The COVETED Mr. Sketch
 My most special summer purchase each year ~barring budget~ is Mr. Sketch markers.  Last year, Office Depot had them 50% OFF!!! I got a box for Andi too (awww).  Now I share a lot of things with the dear children ~ HOWEVER, these are called "teacher tools".  DARE NOT TOUCH Teacher Tools.  I know Scentos are great too, but I'm old and sentimental.  I am devoted to Mr. Sketch ~ my first true love.  Perhaps, if you truly are a wonderful and trustworthy child, you MIGHT get to touch my old Mr. Sketch (yes, they are labeled each year), but don't try pushing boundries- I don't budge.

4 - ALL THINGS TEAL AND BROWN
The story goes... I am not allowed to paint my walls.  They are teal, not white or something that flows well with primary colors.  No, they are teal.
The crazy hodge podge of colors was getting to me, soooo 2 summers ago~
I accepted teal into my life - "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em"
And since I have a few obsessive issues -  If it's not teal or brown, it does not stay.
I even reupholstered my 30 year old, discarded from my old school's office, couch
- stitch by stitch- Sewed all new cushions and even reused the original zippers!
When I went to get some brown leather material, I told the lady my room color and her face lit up - "oh, we have this lovely teal on sale over here...."
OMGG my couch is teal, but I love it and I will NOT be re-doing it in the next 30 years.
So back to the sheets... Do you use these for your bulletin boards?? I used to use fabric, but flat sheets are so much cheaper and they fit better!
Love, Love, Love & lasts through tons of stapling - highly recommended!
And now onto Andi's Favs
(btw, I second her recommendations- good stuff)

~~~~~~~~~~------------------~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~------------------~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey, this is Andi! I wanted to share a few of my favorite things, too! I'm sure some, or all, of my favorite things are on your list as well because they are just so darn handy!
Number 1
Contact Paper
I love me some contact paper. Every summer, I pick up a new roll (or two!) The name tags you see in the picture were purchased in the year, hmmm... let me see... it must have been in the year 2004. They are still in great condition. This is because I don't tape them onto the desks. First, I laminated them and then I used the contact paper to stick them to the desks. I've done this every year I've taught so I have 14 years of experience sticking them to the desks without bubbles! It takes some muscle, but it is well worth it to not hear little pucker noises if you leave air bubbles!
Number 2
My Yearly Planner
I've gone through many a planner and so far these planners by BlueSky are my favorite. I've even had the expensive one (you KNOW which one I'm talking about.) Although, it was super cute - it was too bulky. Too heavy for my purse. Too wide for my teacher bag with my teachers editions and grade book. This one is slender enough to fit in my teacher bag and yet big enough for me to schedule my scope and sequence, school events, personal events, and I use the weekly spots for note taking during those very "important" school meetings. It's a win-win in my book.
Number 3
Personal Laminator
I'm sure this one is a no brainer. But you know what??? I waited several years before buying one. What was I thinking? This thing is so handy. I'm kicking myself for waiting so long. My laminator is by Fellows. I purchased it at Staples (with a coupon.) It costs more than the Scotch one at Walmart, but I'm hoping it will last longer. Of course, I buy my pouches at SAM's Club. Twenty bucks for two hundred pouches is a great deal. :)
Number 4
Paper Cutter
My goodness this bad boy is so old! I purchased it at SAM's Club in the year 2002, and I have yet to change the slicing blade. I don't NEED to! This thing slices paper beautifully. It is perfect for our large 18x11 construction paper. I'm very frugal with my school supplies, so I like to pre-cut my construction paper into smaller sizes. There's less waste and it's more manageable for little hands.
Well, those are my most favorite things.
Can't wait to see what yours are and steal some ideas!!!
Enjoy~ Jill and Andi
Currently - August 2014
It's already the dog days of August, and I'm asking myself where did my summer go?
Well, let me tell you that the summer of 2014 will go down in the record books as a winner for me! Hands down so much fun to have a little one to share your summer with. Granted, I still have zero free time. I haven't gone running in forever. I didn't get to do anything for school. However, I did get to love on my Max. Wouldn't trade that for a million bucks!
  Alas, this will all come to an end soon. Very soon. Like tomorrow! So, I'm soaking up as much love as I can and heading to my classroom with a very heavy heart to get my room in some sort of a workable state. Ho hum. #whereismyassistantalready
Anywho, I'm linking up with the ever so fabulous Farley for her Currently Par-Tay!
Listening: I usually have a pretty quiet neighborhood, but tonight someone is having a rager! At first I thought it was a dog fight! Ha!
Loving: We traded in my gnarly Jeep for the mom mobile and I LOVE it! Truth be told, I've always wanted a minivan. There's just SO much room. It's the best.
Thinking: I love teaching like more than anything in the world, but I hate the first six weeks of behavior training! Saying and modeling the same thing over and over and over and over and over... It's mind numbing.
Wanting: I don't know why we have school during August because our air conditioning is always broken. One simply cannot learn in one hundred degree humidity. It just can't be done!
Needing: This may have to be a permanent answer to the needing spot. I need a clone. Or two.
First day back: Technically, teachers start back on the 12th but our k/1 teachers are heading in early for kinder camp and some preplanning workdays. It's a good thing I LOVE my team or I would be one sad mama!
I hope you all are enjoying your last bits of summer with your loved ones! Don't forget to join the linky and follow the rule of three.
Currently May
Yeah, it's May! I don't need to tell you guys how excited I am for May. I know the feeling is mutual. May is an exciting time of warm weather, growth spurts, testing, and a ton of paperwork. Gotta love it!
Farley has her Currently up and I think I might make it in before she reaches 100 links!
Here's my addition:
1. Listening: If I can only hear the clock than I'm in sensory heaven. After a long day of dealing with some pretty needy students, hearing nothing is so refreshing.
2. Loving: Since Max's two bottom teeth made their debut (finally), he's been in such a good mood. I'm loving every spare second I get with him.
3. Thinking: My school "to do" list is so long and so pressing that it totally stresses me out. It would be nice to using my planning times to actually plan and get paper work completed. Ain't nobody got time for it when there's a cute baby around!
4. Wanting: I'd kill for some ice cream right now but I think I've eaten about ten pounds of peanut m&m's this week so I'd better stay clear of the freezer.
5. Needing: I. Need. Sleep!
6. Surprise: Amy at Mrs. Labrasciano's Blog is so awesome! Her TPT is full of great resources and she's always creating something new. Check her out!
Y'all hang tight. It's almost over!
Currently April
It's April already! I can't believe it.
I have been on maternity leave for almost six whole months! That's just crazy. Here's a current picture of my doodlebug:
But it's all winding down folks. Yep, I have to go back to work on April 14. I am dreading it. Absolutely, dreading it. Unfortunately, we have bills, bills, bills to pay so it's off to work I go. The silver lining is that it's only for 8 weeks and then it's summer break! Yeah! It's not so bad. I can do eight weeks, right? Right?!?! (Insert picture of a crying mess of a mom here.)
Farley has her most recent Currently up and I am actually going to join the party!
These are pretty self explanatory:
Listening: As long as Max still needs nighttime nursing, he's sleeping in our room. Please tell me this doesn't last forever?
Loving: Instagram has been such a wonderful thing lately. I don't do Facebook and as you can tell I don't blog much, so IG has been my go to place to share and connect easily. See that last word EASILY. Meaning, I can use one hand and not wake up a sleeping baby that will ONLY nap on my lap. (I know, bad mommy!) I have made some pretty great friends on IG that I haven't anywhere else and I love these people. Love them! #mwah
Thinking: I'm a list girl and since I barely have time to use the restroom I really need to find a way to write and read my lists efficiently. Seriously, if I don't write stuff down, then it just doesn't happen. The pregnancy has killed my memory (along with my stomach muscles.)
Wanting: Is it so hard to ask for a printer that doesn't suck? Or eat up my paycheck with ink costs. Grumble, grumble, grumble...
Needing: The gray hairs have arrived and invited ALL of their friends to the party that is on my head. My next hair appointment is in limbo because of my limited child support and I am looking rough. I've been gray forever, but have managed to maintain my six week appointments... Until now. Thanks a lot Baby!
Hours: Our hours are okay. When I first started teaching it was 8:00-3:20 and I liked those times much better. I'd much rather go in at 9am but that's just me #notamorningperson
Well, that's all folks.
Soon it will be summer and I'll visit this blog again. Haha!
Don't forget to link up with Farley!
September Currently
Nothing screams the beginning of Fall like sticky humidity and sweltering heat!
Ah, the joys of living in southern Florida.
We get all of those catalogs in the mail that show lovely brown boots and puffy vests.
We laugh as we know that we will have to wait a good three, four, maybe five months before we could ever think of enjoying these fall beauties.
As much as I love living in Florida, I always feel a little sad right now wishing that I could participate in the season known as Autumn.
But I digress,  there are much more pressing issues to attend to and Farley's "Currently" is one of them!
I am very excited to say that I may be joining in on Farley's monthly linky before it reaches 100! Woot, Woot!
Here is my Currently:
*Listening - Normally when I wake up I listen to the news while I get ready, but this morning has been a tad bit lazy and a Parks and Recreations marathon was too good to pass up. Nothing makes me laugh harder than listening to Andy Dwyer. He's my all time favorite!
*Loving - I get these weekly updates in my email about my growing baby and it is so stupid but they bring me such joy. I love reading about his weekly developments and how close we are to meeting him. I am nervous but overall REALLY EXCITED!
*Thinking - I have so much work to do to prepare for my maternity leave on top of my regular work load. I am still the grade level chair for my team this year (I have NO IDEA WHY THEY WOULD PICK ME!!!) but this job requires additional meetings, paperwork, and presentations that I need to do. In addition, I was asked to present a workshop on how to use the SMART Notebook software this week and I should really get a handout prepared for this, too. I need an assistant, STAT!
*Wanting - Kindergarten is a very unique grade to teach. I do love my Kinders, but they are tough to take sometimes. On the flip side, I am in LOVE with first grade. That is my home, my niche. However, my school is mostly departmentalized and so for two hours of my day I teach the Kinders. AHHHH! My teammate and I have nine major discipline problems and three who have never been to school at all! It is bonkers! One of them insists on calling us "Teacher." It isn't cute either. I'm over it! I'll give them a solid and say they have improved overall in the past nine days, but it hasn't been an easy road. "No, David," ain't got nothing over some of these guys!
*Needing - I am really not going to elaborate on this one. The bottom line is the basketball bouncing on my bladder isn't doing me any favors lately.
Well that's all for now. My parents are taking me to breakfast - YIPEE! I'm so spoiled.
Please join in on the linky fun at Farley's blog:
Currently ~August and Celebrate SAID
Well, well, well!
When you are three days late to a party you are REALLY LATE to the party.
I just checked and Farley has 400+ people already linked up to her monthly "Currently" Linky Party.
Now, don't I feel like a LOSER?!?!
Although my school year hasn't officially started, I did have a very long meeting on the first of August and then all-day Kindergarten Camp on the 2nd of August. So, needless to say, I had to be absent from the interwebs because I was just too tired to do anything else!
Here is my August Currently (hopefully, I make it into the 400's!)
1) Listening: Wow, I had no idea how noisy baby clothes are in the dryer! We had to turn up the television and it is in a room far away from the laundry room. I'll have to remember that nugget when our little man is trying to sleep.
2) Loving: Scott tried out a new recipe for blueberry cobbler and it is delicious.I've gone back for seconds and thirds. Get that pan away from me!
3) Thinking: Pregnancy brain can really be a pain in the butt sometimes. I thought my memory was bad before. It is terrible now! I'm going to have to start writing things on my arm just to keep track of my thoughts.
4) Wanting: This one is pretty self-explanatory. I'm so annoyed with this aching pain that I want to use a knife to dig out the nerve pain that is shooting down my lower back and into my leg!
5) Needing: It really does pay to rip these workbook pages out ahead of time as opposed to during the school year, but, geez, do I hate doing it. This is the time I really wish I had parent volunteers at my school. I know, sad, right?
6) B2s must haves:
a) Duct tape - for the past few years I have discovered the joys of fancy duct tape. I use it to decorate buckets and boxes, to differentiate between my Kinder stuff and my first grade stuff, and to keep my organizers from falling apart.
b) Ink Joy Pens - these pens are so great for everyday use. I'm a huge fan!
c) Calendars are so important. I've been using them since the sixth grade and I can prove it. Much to my husband's chagrin since they are taking up space in our closet. Basically, a planner is my calendar, scheduler, journal, diary, and note taker. I COULD NOT go a school year without one. Even with the magic of technology, I would still rather use my paper planner. Call me an old lady - I dare ya!
I gotta say I just love this month's currently paper. It is so cute!
Thank you, Farley.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~***************~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*****************~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**************

And now on to something completely different:

My favorite sister, Jill, has an editorial to share.

As a Kindergarten teacher, we lay the foundation for the rest of our students' education.
To belittle what we do as K teachers is to belittle the whole Kindergarten experience.
Personally, I have had some (not all) upper-grade teachers tell me that K/1 teachers shouldn't get pay raises or that their grade is so much more work than ours. I nod my head and move on because I am a total wimp when it comes to confrontations, but it does bother me. A LOT!
I don't think one grade is more difficult than others, but I do think we all work equally hard at what we do and it is a shame to belittle any teacher.

Alright, so here is Jill's POV:

Said is NOT dead!

This is Andi’s sister, Jill.
As we work through pre-planning days, I am often drawn to the subject of writing as our school wide plan has many great features, yet it is not cohesive.  I reflect on how each grade builds on each other and then I have a mini breakdown when it comes to the word SAID.

Here is my rant about my dear friend – Mama SAID.
While it very cute to have a funeral for SAID, I as a kindergarten teacher, have great sadness for this ritual.  I even heard my principal go on about such a “cute” lesson she saw at some school visit where they went through a whole funeral for my friend.  Oy - the pain I felt and the smile and nod I had to muster to her.  Blech.  I choose my battles carefully and that was not the day.

Well, guess what – Today IS the day.
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS GOOD – DO NOT KILL MAMA SAID!!!!!

Here is my story…
I teach 5 year olds that SAID is a VERY special word.  In fact, she even has her own special spelling.  Oh, yes – we will see many “sed” on papers.  And actually it is to my delight.  Yes, delight.  A 5 year old hears a beginning, medial and final sound in the word.  EXCITING – people!!   We kindergarten teachers work HARD for this stuff!

But there comes a day, where you talk about all of the wonderful news and information we: our friends, characters and own creations can say… and we learn that crazy “sed” is actually SAID!  Who knew??
Not 20  - 5 years (ok, maybe a few by now, but not enough to remember to write it that way).

This is my job, SAID is on my high frequency word list. I break their hearts and mend them at the same time.  SAID makes our stories both read and written come alive.  When we learn SAID, we even get to use the beloved puppet theatre <<that takes up too much room, so I carefully plan this event>> to write plays for the stuffed animals in our room.

SAID is glorious,
UNTIL… a few years later someone KILLS HER!!!!!
What??? Why???
To me, she is the matriarch of all things wonderful.
She is still written in all books past, present and future…

PLEASE, I BEG YOU, PLEASE
Begin a new ritual to celebrate her glorious family!
Instead of killing her, celebrate her family reunion and let the whole family shine.

Search “ways to say said” on Google and you will find many lists 300 words strong!!
Glorious, I told you-

Mama SAID has a rockin’ family.
Let me introduce you to some of her family.  Each group is special and yet different than the others. For the older students, you can even go on a genealogy hunt for all of the cousins, twice removed…

Here is a start of the family tree:
The Quiet family:
whispered, uttered, hissed, inferred, whimpered
The Loud family:
bellowed, screamed, screeched, proclaimed, blabbed, called, yelled, shrieked, whooped
The Grouchy family:
moaned, complained, demanded, hissed, argued, interrupted, lied, disagreed, objected, glowered
The Happy family:
smiled, sang, joked, giggled, laughed, cheered, grinned, gushed,whooped
The Sad family:
bawled, begged, fussed, sputtered, pouted, cried, wailed, fussed
The Shy family:
sighed, huffed, stammered, purred, persuaded, breathed
The Noisy family:
repeated,  gurgled, chastised, crabbed, mocked, rambled, retorted, squawked, pestered
The Unsure family:
questioned, wondered, asked, requested, inquired, posed, queried
Well, you get the idea…
Like I said, Mama SAID has a big family.

My vision for a school wide goal would be to build that family tree grade by grade.
Kindergarten is that solid foundation- we learn to love Mama SAID:  The trunk and strength to all things vocal. We might get a surprise visit from a few relatives, but for the most part we learn about dialogue, mama’s special spelling and those crazy macaroni things that you use instead of a word bubble called quotation marks.

First grade begins learning the relatives and gets at least a dozen of them in use fluently.

Second grade doubles up and works with at least 2 dozen of the family.

Third grade (the typical FUNERAL YEAR – aaghghhgha)  We arrange a family reunion with about 4 dozen members and begin to sort them into their families.

Fourth and Fifth grade each get to double the branches.  They learn “cried” might fit in 2 families: loud and sad, just as there is a Robert in the Smith branch and the Thomas side of the family.

Glorious Mama SAID.
Now as she gets up in years, she enjoys her retirement, makes an appearance here and there, but for the most part, lets the rest of her lovely family do the work…

Do you feel my pain?  Don’t kill her – celebrate her, she deserves it.

And to support my case, here are a few common core standards that can also help keep our sweet Mama SAID alive and celebrate her family:

In our Language Strand:  We want a command for vocabulary acquisition and use in all grade levels.  We learn to clarify meanings through our use of Mama SAID’s family.  We learn word relationships and nuances be defining the shades of meanings when we sort her family and decide “who is stronger/weaker?”  Which word tells my meaning best?

In the Speaking and Listening Strand: We improve our presentation of knowledge and ideas when we are selective of which variation of SAID makes retelling most accurate or clear.

And ultimately in our Writing Strand:  We thoughtful and specific in our writing products and purpose.  We want our readers interpret the meaning we intended.

I shall now step down from my soap box.  Mama SAID and I need now to just relax, be quiet and enjoy a beverage :)
~Jill

Favorite Pins Friday

I am have been meaning to participate in this linky party for some time now, but I have a SERIOUS lazy bone condition this summer!

However, I have decided to get my behind off the couch and do this party right.
Plus, if you are one of my Pinterest followers, you know I just love this site...

Here are my *favorites* from the week...

Favorite TEACHING related pins

My district is neck deep in the Marzano Evaluation System and there are several elements that a teacher must hit in to order to prove themselves Innovative (even in KINDERGARTEN!!!) I really love this "Ticket Out the Door" poster created by Jessica Heeren. It is simple, beautiful and blue!

I absolutely love this anchor chart for partner reading made by Kimberly Shannon.
This will be perfect for when I introduce Read to Someone and a superb reference for the rest of the year. Simple and colorful!

For the past few years, I have had several students on the spectrum. Now, I have never been trained on how to effectively teach students with Autism and it has really been a sort of trial and error for me as a teacher. This pin takes you to this great website, "Living Well With Autism." There are a ton of resources that are helpful when teaching students with ASD.

My favorite FOODIE pins

My goodness these look delicious! I could eat the whole plate. Of course, I'd have to find a suitable GF substitute for myself but that wouldn't stop me from making the real deal for my family. YUM!

This Lava Flow drink looks like the perfect summer concoction.
Get YO DRINK ON!

My favorite FASHION pins

This outfit looks like the perfect southern Florida teaching combo to me. I could definitely pull this off, not anytime soon, though...
Let me tell you, I. Miss. Shopping!
Love the incoming kiddo, but maternity clothes shopping sucks. Especially when I just get bigger and bigger, bleck!

Since I can't really enjoy fashion for myself, I have this cutie-pie find for my little man. Wish I could knit this adorable outfit (if you can call it that!) found on Etsy.

My favorite PRINTABLE pin...

I just LOVE these parent print-outs made by Jodi at Fun in First blog. They are the perfect way to provide helpful information without overwhelming a parent. Love it!

My favorite FUNNY pins

His little bug-eyed face cracks me up every time I look at it!

Leave it to Buzz Feed to provide another list that leaves me in stitches!
Number 5 and 10 are so thoughtful and, of course, I love number 2 because, you know, nothing is more fun than playing with your kids like you do your animals!

My favorite HOME DECOR pins

This looks really cool and I am sure my husband would be all over it, but I would always worry that the TV was going to fall and kill me in my sleep!
I can't tell you how happy I was when my wittle projector was hooked up in my classroom and they removed that HUGE SCARY television that was mounted on my wall. It hung right over my teacher desk and I was always afraid it would fall on me!

This bar area screams ANDI. Love the color and all the beachy accessories. I'm such a Florida girl!

My favorite Baby pins

I just love this birth announcement. So simple and precious. I can't wait for my little man!

Putting baby to sleep and establishing a sleep pattern has me up all night! I am a nervous wreck about doing the wrong thing with baby Max. Any helpful tips would be much appreciated! I want a good sleeper! Every year, I have to deal with a classroom full of kids who do not get a good night's sleep and I see the damage that is done by it. Makes me sad and nervous!
